Camden scored significantly lower on his vision test, which was terrifying to watch. With corrective lenses, we were able to achieve 20/20 vision. The good news is, according to the ophthalmologist, there is NO optic nerve swelling and NO optic nerve damage...which he explained, that indicates the visual changes are NOT a result of changes within the brain. The problem is that Camden's eyes cannot focus, making his visual acuity poor for up close activities. There is no explanation as to why this happens...but the doctor was optimistic that it should self correct. We have a follow up appointment in two weeks, prior to round 3 of the same medication. Now do we proceed with MRI tomorrow...or is it added stress that is not indicated? Waiting to hear back from CCMC!
What a roller coaster ride!!
