Summer vacation

Day 2 of summer vacation with Camden. I love spending quality time with him. I hope that I have enough resources to ensure his summer is amazing. Next week he has his scans. There are really no words to explain the feeling that is associated with waiting for scans. I won't be myself for the next week. In the meantime, enjoying today with my boy!

Results are in.  Blood work is good.  Those darn urine numbers felt like they took forever this time.  (a week).  We were spoiled that they came in quick the last few months.  Both numbers fall into the "normal" range and are considered to be good.  One is lower than last time (great) and the other is slightly higher (but is still good).  Tomorrow marks Camden's ONE YEAR OFF OF FRONTLINE TREATMENT.  Which also means that he has been scanning clear for 15 months.  One year down, 4 more to go.  Audiology:  Cam's hearing test continues to IMPROVE!!  His hearing for high tone frequency loss (4000-8000 Hz) improved from severe-profound hearing loss to now moderate-severe in the right ear and mild-moderate in the left.  I have charted all of his audiology exams and this last test was comparable to the one taken in December of 2013.  We will beat this!!!  ALSO:  our scan schedules have changed.  The maintenance medication that Camden is taking has shown such great outcomes at this point, that they do not feel that it is indicated to expose him to radiation/scans every 3 months.  This is a great thing, but a scary thing too.  Camden will have scans on June 29/30 and then we will go month by month checking this blood and urine.  If there is not a reason or concern for scans, we will wait the 6 months.  Scans can be done sooner if indicated.  We continue to pray and seek guidance for the best after treatment care.

Camden Update

6/1/2015

Camden has been doing really well. He had a great birthday. We spent some wonderful time with family and friends. Cam is still loving baseball, despite it coming to an end soon! We enjoyed watching Emma dance at her very first dance recital on Saturday. Yesterday we were blessed to be around many wonderful, spiritual individuals while Camden and I stood before them to tell our story and give Camden's testimony. It is comforting to know that many people are praying for us as our journey continues. Today, Camden and I will be at CCMC for his clinic appointment and audiology testing. I will update you later, but please pray for all perfect results! 🙏🙏🙏

    Mommy & Me

    Mommy

She's going to keep everyone up to date about my progress.  Isn't she the best mommy ever?

Mommy thought long and hard about my new website.  She thought about protecting me and not putting my hospital pictures online.  But my mommy wants everyone to know that Neuroblastoma isn't just another illness, that it's scary and very serious.  My mommy wants to make sure that other kids don't go through this and that their parents know what to look for.  My cancer is very mean, and I'm scared, but I have my mommy - and daddy - to rub my belly and hold me tight.  I love them so much!
