Another very long day! Camden's ANC jumped to 5,366 and platelets to 77! He did it!!!! We did it....our prayers worked. Unfortunately despite all good numbers, his surgery for this Thursday has been cancelled. During our hospital stay, he acquired a GI upset, (not happy about this) and it caused his surgery to be delayed. This delay will put him off schedule by 2-3 weeks, which is not optimal. His CT scan revealed a really good reduction of his tumor size! GREAT news! His other scan today showed much much less cancer. Initially, both legs, his hips, his full spine, his shoulder, and the back of his skull were showing bone cancer, in addition to the large and diffuse tumor attached to an involved lymph node. Our prayers led us to todays news: a few spots within in the tumor and lymph node, 1 area in his mid spine and 1 very subtle/faint area in his right leg. AMEN, thank GOD! I was hoping for nothing at all, but this is a big change. 20-30% of children do not respond to what Camden has! Please continue to pray with us that 1. The 2-3 week delay has no adverse effects on his outcome, 2. This change in his treatment plan does not remove him from his clinical trial, 3. That these bone areas heal with the next round of chemo (next tuesday), and that the tumor/lymph area continue to shrink/heal and remain easy to safely remove! Thank you to each one of you for your continuous prayers and support! This journey has been difficult for us and we have grown to rely on your prayers and support! Much love~
