Chemo was successfully completed today! Camden was able to take a nice long nap and he fought off nausea longer tonight, but unfortunately it got the best of him. He is such a trooper! We had a visit from professional race car driver, Guy Smith. Guy was awesome enough to give Camden an autographed picture and in return Camden gave Guy a Camden's Crusade bracelet, which Guy reports he will wear this weekend. Be sure to watch him race this Saturday on ESPN2. Day 2 in the books, 2 more up and coming!! Going to beat this!!! Cam is my hero!!
Camden breezed through the alternate medication and the second chemo medication today. It was a long day (3 hours prehydration, 3 hours of chemo, 6 hours posthydration, followed by 12 hours of additional IV fluids. Starting at 5:00 pm nausea and vomiting got the best of him. The vomiting has finally subsided some and he fell asleep. We are watching the clock and hope he can get some rest. We are not sure what the night has in store, but we are prepared and will love and comfort him every second of every day!! Round 3 of IV chemo tonight. Within minutes of chemo starting, Camden had yet another allergic reaction to medication; this time much scarier. Chemo was stopped immediately, with multiple other medications following to stop the reaction. Since then, Camden has rebounded and is doing ok. Tomorrow we will start again with an alternate chemo medication. Overcoming hurdles. Keep praying. |
