Another very long day! Camden's ANC jumped to 5,366 and platelets to 77! He did it!!!! We did it....our prayers worked. Unfortunately despite all good numbers, his surgery for this Thursday has been cancelled. During our hospital stay, he acquired a GI upset, (not happy about this) and it caused his surgery to be delayed. This delay will put him off schedule by 2-3 weeks, which is not optimal. His CT scan revealed a really good reduction of his tumor size! GREAT news! His other scan today showed much much less cancer. Initially, both legs, his hips, his full spine, his shoulder, and the back of his skull were showing bone cancer, in addition to the large and diffuse tumor attached to an involved lymph node. Our prayers led us to todays news: a few spots within in the tumor and lymph node, 1 area in his mid spine and 1 very subtle/faint area in his right leg. AMEN, thank GOD! I was hoping for nothing at all, but this is a big change. 20-30% of children do not respond to what Camden has! Please continue to pray with us that 1. The 2-3 week delay has no adverse effects on his outcome, 2. This change in his treatment plan does not remove him from his clinical trial, 3. That these bone areas heal with the next round of chemo (next tuesday), and that the tumor/lymph area continue to shrink/heal and remain easy to safely remove! Thank you to each one of you for your continuous prayers and support! This journey has been difficult for us and we have grown to rely on your prayers and support! Much love~
Home sweet home!!! Still no baby girl, but making headway! Camden's exact count ended up being 1105!! As you know, we always take 2 steps forward and 1 back and then catch up again last minute. Another prayer In preparation for thursdays surgery is to be infection free. We head home on antibiotics which could be a problem.... PRAYERS!!! No CT scan results yet. Tomorrows big (2 hour) scan will tell us a lot! Promise to update you after our meeting with Camden's oncologist tomorrow! Continue to pray and believe! xoxo It has been a really LONG morning, i do not have exact numbers, but we cleared just over 600!!!! THANK YOU GOD!! So CT Scan of his tumor is at 2:30 today....praying for good results! Big scan is tomorrow at 8:00am for locating all cancer cells (praying for good results). Next we need his platelets to recover to be more than 50 by Wednesday (currently 15)... Otherwise surgery may be cancelled (which CANNOT happen). I know I leave a long list of prayer requests everyday, but appreciate so much everything you all have been doing! Our prayers are being answered!!! Thank you so much!! Much Love~ So todays big number is....drum roll.....168. Another step closer to 500. HAS TO BE 500 FOR TOMORROW MORNINGS BLOOD DRAW. Praying, praying, praying! Feeling thankful for todays improvement from yesterday!! (These numbers getting to 500 for tomorrow are critical for his scans, which the surgeon will be using for Camden's tumor removal. If his numbers are too low, we risk missing things on his scans and we want ALL of this cancer OUT with surgery!!). Prayers! xoxo Todays ANC is 25!! We have finally moved away from 0!!! Thank you God! Please continue to trend upwards! Thank you everyone for your prayers! 2 more days to get to 500! We got this!!!! Camden's counts remain 0 today. The red blood cell transfusion helped yesterday, but today he will need a platelet transfusion too! It is CRITICAL that his counts recover before MONDAY! We need at least a 500 for accurate scans! Praying hard over here!! Well friends, Cam awoke at 12:00am from some discomfort. We noticed he had a slight temp (100.4 is our cutoff for an emergency room visit). So after many repetitive checks, we landed at CCMC ED, where we stayed for almost 6 hrs. They lost Camden's initial blood draw after 2 1/2 hrs of waiting for lab results...and we had to start over! Makes us appreciate our girls on MS8!!! I will spare you the rest of the details because that ED visit has no reflection on the quality care he gets on the oncology floor. So anyways, his WBC/ANC is ZERO....so we will be "stuck" here until those go up. He needs another blood transfusion today. Surgery date at this point remains next Thursday in Boston...as long as his counts recover. Scans are next Monday and Tuesday! Praying for smooth and successful transitions and outcomes. We still haven't seen Miss Emma who has croup, an ear infection and pink eye! Aughhh.... |
