Blood is up and running....praying, praying
We are a tired family! What a long day today. His blood is still being prepared...no transfusion today. We start over with the process tomorrow morning!! Lets see how many states our prayers have reached...if you are praying for Camden, please comment with your state, you can stay anonymous if you prefer. I am hoping for 50 comments, plus some from all of our international friends. One comment per state please. Lets work together to spread the power of prayer for Camden! xo 23. Italy 24. Aruba .....and we did NOT dodge the transfusion, but everyone is working diligently to ensure that Camden is well taken care of by minimizing risks and providing optimal treatment! And the praying intensified.....xo Please pray that Camden will not need a blood transfusion tomorrow and that is hemoglobin will be higher than 10!!! Thank you!! Home sweet home and loving it! Snuggled in with my loves, watching a movie! Cam is doing much better...he is such a trooper!!!! xo 54 hours later I am extremely happy to say that Camden is finally OFF oxygen. (for the past 30 minutes)....It took all day to wean him, right down to a 1/2 liter. He still needs that transfusion, but all doctors are in agreement that it is best to wait until Monday/Tuesday. This gives us 2 days to pray diligently that his red blood count will come up on its own and we could please dodge this bump in the road. In the world of oncology, transfusions are as common as brushing your teeth, so we know it will happen, but I am so scared that this reaction will happen again! There are no odds with Camden, we know he breaks all the rules. AND I am DONE with life threatening diagnoses. So I am not jumping to get out of here tonight, I want to make sure he remains stable overnight and hit the road in the morning. We are all exhausted; physically, mentally, and emotionally! Thank you everyone for your endless support....much love!! Camden slept well last night. I am so happy that his heart rate came down a lot, now it is not exceeding 120's (although he is sleeping). His respiratory rate improved too AND he has been on 2 liters all night. My prayer request is for his lungs to heal, but ALSO that his red blood count rises on its own...praying that he will NOT need another transfusion!!!!!!! (Emma and daddy had a good night at home too!!) It has been a long day with ups and downs, but at this point we have been able to wean his oxygen to 4 liters, with fluctuating elevation of his heart rate and respiratory rate. His chest x-ray was slightly worse today as compared to yesterdays. He is maintaining 97-100% oxygen saturation, so hopefully the other two will stabilize too and tomorrow we can decrease oxygen again (if not tonight). We just do not want him "working hard" to breathe. We are 32 hours into this...praying the roller coaster ride is over... Other than going to radiation, Camden did get out of bed to paint on his isolation doors (with Emma) and our Hole in the Wall Gang friend. Camden and Brian painted an awesome Star Wars scene and Miss Emma did an amazing, messy but beautiful abstract. Camden did well over night but as of 5:30am, he started having increased difficulty breathing, now on 6 liters with a saturation of 90-93%. We are not out of the clear. The ICU staff just evaluated him incase that is our next stop. Worried and praying!! |
