Please pray for Camden's eyes! His pupils are much better, but not perfect and his vision is still blurry! Thank you...we have until Wednesday's eye appointment for perfect vision again or this will effect his next treatment! Praying and praying.
Dearest Friends and Family...on this day, we will be attending this event briefly on our way into the hospital for round 3 of antibody. We are looking for a head count of crusaders who will be attending this benefit. Mark your calendars...save the date....can't beat the price for a great breakfast & a great cause!
**If you are not able to attend, but would like to purchase a ticket(s), please let us know. Thank you** Prayers for Camden's eyes to heal....I do think his left pupil is less dilated today...but lets flood the gates with prayers for his vision to improve....and of course my long list of everything else too!! Camden is still fighting blurry vision and dilated pupils. At times I think it is better, though it is hard to say for sure. He is more active and we have had a few lightsaber fights and some superhero battles. His MRI was cancelled yesterday 1. because our roads weren't plowed and 2. his vision test revealed that it was not a result of changes in his brain. It will be rescheduled if indicated. His appetite is improving. As much as his little sister drives him crazy sometimes...more often than not, she is good medicine for him and keeps us on our toes! Praying we can stay on track with the upcoming treatments; despite the medications being harder than chemo, transplant, etc....it is critical that he get this. Praying, believing.... Camden scored significantly lower on his vision test, which was terrifying to watch. With corrective lenses, we were able to achieve 20/20 vision. The good news is, according to the ophthalmologist, there is NO optic nerve swelling and NO optic nerve damage...which he explained, that indicates the visual changes are NOT a result of changes within the brain. The problem is that Camden's eyes cannot focus, making his visual acuity poor for up close activities. There is no explanation as to why this happens...but the doctor was optimistic that it should self correct. We have a follow up appointment in two weeks, prior to round 3 of the same medication. Now do we proceed with MRI tomorrow...or is it added stress that is not indicated? Waiting to hear back from CCMC! What a roller coaster ride!! In addition to dilated pupils and blurry vision which we assume is the direct effects from the antibody medication, Camden woke up with headaches in the occipital region (portion of brain that controls vision). So we moved our eye up appointment to 1:50 today. Depending on their findings, we may or may not need a CT Scan of brain; but either way we have a 90 minute Brain MRI tomorrow under anesthesia, looking for any changes....either advanced disease (NO) or a hemorrhage (NO). Im speechless.....I just hate this so much.....better to check it out and be certain he is fine than to worry and drive yourself more and more crazy! Prayer warriors, please surround us.... |
